How is The Black Box different from DCP and KDM systems?
The Black Box does not require DCPs or KDMs. It is a secure, cloud-based streaming platform that allows cinemas to play content instantly without physical delivery, time-bound keys, or complex setups. It's faster, more flexible, and cost-effective—ideal for modern exhibition and independent content.
Does The Black Box increase Cinema occupancy levels?
Yes. The Black Box helps increase cinema occupancy by offering a wider range of curated, regional, and on-demand content that caters to diverse audience segments. It allows cinemas to schedule shows flexibly, fill non-peak hours, and tap into untapped communities and niche markets, ultimately leading to better seat utilisation and incremental revenue.
Do I need to pay the Distributor or Content Owner directly after screening a movie through The Black Box?
No. All payments are made directly to The Black Box platform. We handle revenue settlement with the respective Distributor or Content Owner, as per our contractual agreement. This ensures a seamless, transparent, and simplified transaction process for cinemas.
What monetisation models are available on The Black Box platform?
We offer two monetisation models based on territory and content type:
- Pay-Per-Click (PPC): A fixed charge per show/screening.
- Revenue Share: A percentage share on the Net Box Office Collection (NBOC).
Territory-specific factors and content types will determine the applicable model.
Who is eligible to use The Black Box?
The Black Box is offered exclusively to licensed Cinemas and Commercial Exhibition Venues worldwide. It is not available for personal or home use.
Will all the Content be available on The Black Box?
Content availability will be determined by censorship laws, licensing agreements, and release timelines.
What is the Cost per click for Cinemas?
The cost-per-click for cinemas will vary depending on the content. Pricing will be based on the value and appeal of each specific content.
What kind of content is available?
The platform features a wide range of content including:
- Regional and international films
- Library titles
- First Day First Show releases
- Short films and documentaries
- Spiritual and concert content
New titles are added regularly based on demand and territory needs.
Technical FAQ
What are the technical requirements to install The Black Box?
Cinemas will need a spare HDMI port in the projector. For sound, it will require a spare HDMI or SPDIF port in the sound processor. Additionally, a stable internet connection is necessary.
How much internet speed is required to stream a movie?
We recommend a minimum of 50 Mbps stable internet speed.
How much data is consumed to stream a single movie?
Data consumption varies based on the movie's resolution (HD, 2K, or 4K) and length, ranging between 2-15 GB per movie.
Can I use a single internet connection for multiple screens?
Yes, although we recommend using different internet connections for each Black Box.
Do I have to pay any monthly rental for The Black Box?
No. The Black Box comes free of any fees.
When can my Black Box be disabled?
The Black Box will be disabled after 3 months of non-usage or upon detection of piracy or copyright infringement or contract termination.
Can I use The Black Box on multiple screens?
No, each Black Box can only be installed in one screen. For multiple screens, multiple Black Boxes are required.

Is the cost of The Black Box included in the processing fee?
No, The Black Box remains the property of Time Entech UK Ltd and is installed in cinemas only against a one-time non-refundable processing fee per screen. A refundable security deposit may also be payable by the Cinema.
Will there be any annual maintenance services required for The Black Box?
No, there are no annual maintenance services required for The Black Box.
Will there be 24/7 assistance for The Black Box users?
Yes, you can reach us via email 24 hours a day.
Can I shift my Black Box from one screen to another?
Once installed in a screen, The Black Box is locked with the system.
